Five Tips To Refresh Your Home In 2025

While trends come and go, timeless beauty is here to stay. What makes an interior beautiful? YOU. Your colors, your vibes, bringing together a style that speaks to you and creates a sense of home. Take a look here for five tips that might just spark a little excitement!

Tip # 1 Bring in some calming yet confident colors

Check out the Benjamin Moore Color Trends Palette and you’ll get a little glimpse of what many lifestyle brands are promoting this season. Bring in some of these gorgeous rich tones with accent walls, pillows, throws, artwork, and rugs.

Tip # 2 Add natural beauty with plants

Are you a plant parent? If not, try adding these living pieces of art to your home. It’s so wonderful to start something small and watch it flourish. I’ve had my share of plant failures, but over time I’ve found some that require very little maintenance and seem to almost thrive by being ignored. Some of my favorites are Fiddle Leaf Figs, Snake plants, Pilea, and Philodendron. To pot these beauties, I recommend finding ceramic planters at discount stores such as Marshalls. It’s important to look for those that have drainage holes and attached saucers if possible.

Tip # 3 Try peel and stick wallpaper

Wallpaper is awesome! Removing wallpaper is NOT awesome. We once bought a house that was covered top to bottom in the most horrible prints imaginable and it took weeks to remove. What was left was a sticky, uneven surface. Nowadays, there is a vast array of peel and stick wallpaper! What a great way to add the layered maximalist look to any room without fear. Take a look here at Spoonflower for some of the most eye-catching patterns and textures. I’m dreaming of a new bedroom accent wall right now. (Stay tuned for a future blog post!)

Tip #4 Add Natural Wood Elements

From flooring and tables, to beams and shelving, wood is so versatile. Every room should have some wooden elements to add coziness and warmth, even if it’s just a few accents. The popular Japandi style, while minimalist, incorporates natural wood and bamboo, creating an inviting and serene interior. Also trending, English style features wood, but with deeper saturated tones and in conjunction with painted pieces.

Tip #5 Balance Your Space With Organic Shapes

For many years, decor has been masculine and boxy, but now curves and arches can be found everywhere! Balancing the straight with the curved, the square with the round brings a sense of peace and harmony to a space, beautifully showcasing the strength of each.
